Federal Premium Terminal Ascent 7mm Backcountry 170gr Polymer Tip Bonded Boat Tail 20/Box delivers match-grade long-range accuracy and are loaded with Federal's patented bonded Slipstream polymer tip bullet (projectile) and utilizes a copper shank and bonded lead core. The bonded constructed bullet penetrates deep on close targets, while the patented Slipstream polymer tip helps flatten trajectories and initiates low-velocity expansion at velocities 200 FPS (Feet Per Second), resulting in quick, humane kills. The bullet features a long, sleek, profile which offers an extremely high ballistic coefficient (BC), and its AccuChannel groove technology improves accuracy and minimizes drag. This ammunition also utilizes Federal Premium Gold Medal primers, specially formulated propellant and patented one-piece high strength Peak Alloy steel cartridge cases. Utilizing Peak Alloy cartridge case technology, this ammunition can be loaded to higher chamber pressures than brass case counterparts. As a result, it produces higher muzzle velocities than comparable cartridges, retaining velocity downrange for less drop and wind drift. This ammunition is built for hunting medium sized game (50 to 300 lbs) including whitetail deer, and feral hogs. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.
Please Note: Patented Peak Alloy case technology is fundamentally different than brass cases. Created in response to U.S. military solicitations, it utilizes a proprietary steel alloy that includes other unique elements. This same alloy is used in manufacturing safes, nuclear reactors and other high-strength applications. Peak Alloy allows Federal to safely increase chamber pressures far beyond the limits of brass case ammunition, significantly increasing velocity and energy. The Peak Alloy case is also reloadable when following Federal’s lab-tested processes and data.
