Hornady Backcountry Defense .44 Magnum 240gr DGH Non-Expanding Protected Jacketed Hollow Point 20/Box delivers hard-hitting, deep-penetrating and threat-ending performance for dangerous game encounters. This ammunition features Hornady manufactured DGH (Dangerous Game Handgun) bullets (projectiles) which features a protected point which locks the bullet nose to the core to deliver maximum straight-line penetration while limiting deflection. The DGH bullet is not designed to expand/mushroom like typical jacketed hollow point bullets. The DGH bullet nose is designed to flatten/compress/crimp down onto the core of the bullet, locking the nose and core of the bullet together which limits bullet deflection and penetrates deeper to reach the vital organs of dangerous game resulting in threat-ending performance. Incorporating a high antimony lead core with a copper jacket, the DGH bullet maintains integrity and overall bullet weight retention. Unlike hard cast bullet loads, the protected jacketed DGH bullet produces no lead build-up, and no lead smoke/dust resulting in faster follow-up shots and increased reliable performance. This ammunition is built for defense against dangerous game including wolves and mountain lions. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.
