Hornady Superformance Varmint .223 Winchester Super Short Magnum (.223 WSSM) 55gr V-MAX 20/Box delivers muzzle velocity increases up to 200 feet per second without extra chamber pressure, recoil, muzzle blast, temperature sensitivity, fouling, or loss of accuracy. This ammunition utilizes Hornady's V-MAX bullet (projectile) which features a polymer tip and streamlined design resulting in flat trajectories and explosive terminal performance. The V-MAX bullet features a hollow cavity which rests between the bullet tip's shaft and body. Upon impact, the hard shaft builds up speed and energy before driving into the core, which causes all the key elements to rapidly expand, producing violent fragmentation. This ammunition is built for hunting varmint sized game less than (50 lbs) including coyotes, prairie dogs, and bobcats. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.
