Hornady Precision Hunter .308 Winchester 178gr ELD-X 20/Box features a streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design plus highly concentric AMP bullet jackets plus Heat Shield tip combine for radically superior aerodynamic efficiency. This ammunition has been verified by Doppler radar. The Heat Shield bullet tip defies the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to maintain the highest-in-class BC over its entire trajectory. Upon low velocity, 400 plus yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting controlled expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight, the bullet provides deep penetration and large cavities. This ammunition is built for hunting medium game (50 to 300 lbs), and large game (300 to 1500 lbs). This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.

excellent ammo for hunting TX hogs
I use this round for hunting hogs though thick wooded areas. This round on impact drops a thick skinned hog fast. I hunt hogs out to 200 yds with great accuracy. At 200 yds it breaks right though hard cartilage and bone to down a hog fast. This is one of the best if not the best 308 Win rounds on the market. I hunt hogs more than I hunt deer and this is my round of choice when I really want to drop a hog quick. Hogs do not stand a chance when taken with this 178 grain bullet. Excellent price and excellent customer service from Munitions Express. I am a returning customer and have bought hunting ammo from your company 3 times and I am always impressed with your customer service. Thank you Ken for following up with me when these came back in stock. This grain was out of stock for a few weeks but you called me and asked if I was still looking for some. Munitions Express will continue to be the only place I buy my hunting ammo.
