Hornady Precision Hunter .338 Lapua Magnum 270gr ELD-X 20/Box features a streamlined secant ogive with optimum boat-tail design plus, highly concentric AMP bullet jackets, plus Heat Shield tip, combine for radically superior aerodynamic efficiency. This ammunition has been verified by Doppler radar. The Heat Shield bullet tip defies the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to maintain the highest-in-class BC over its entire trajectory. Upon low velocity, 400 plus yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting controlled expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight, the bullet provides deep penetration and large cavities. This ammunition is built for long range hunting medium game (50 to 300 lbs) including pronghorn, and large game (300 to 1500 lbs) including elk, and black bear. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.

my elk hunting round of choice
Over the years 338 lapua has been my round of choice on the range and for hunting. I bought two boxes of the precision hunter 270 grain and do not regret it. I looked all over the internet and in my local gun shops and finally found it here and to my surprise it was the best price. I paid 4.55 cent a round. I am used to paying upwards of 6.00 a round for this ammo. I am so glad I found munitions express. I now have a new place to get my 338 lapua. I sent your company a email about emailing me when you have more of the hornady 285 grain competition match ammo in stock. Harold said he would hold me a couple boxes when they come in. Great prices on ammo and great customer service.
