Berger Match Grade .338 Lapua Magnum 300gr Elite Hunter Hybrid Hollow Point Boat Tail 20/Box is designed for long range and large game hunting including dangerous game hunting and features premium .338 Lapua Magnum brass, a temperature stable powder, and a match grade primer to ensure that each round will perform exactly as expected in varied temperatures and altitudes. This ammunition utilizes Berger’s industry-leading Hybrid Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet (projectile) which blends tangent and secant designs to optimize efficiency and reduce wind-drift. These bullets are identical in construction, shape and performance to the Berger Hybrid Target series, for the exception of the utilization of a thinner J4 Precision Jacket for rapid expansion on game animals. Berger's Hybrid Hollow Point bullets are designed to penetrate 2-3″ and then expand, creating a massive wound cavity. Hydrostatic shock causes most animals to drop immediately. The boat tail design of the bullet provides an aerodynamic advantage at longer ranges, especially while transitioning from transonic to subsonic velocities. Berger's exacting core manufacturing process means, not having to worry about sorting by weight, which provides more reliable drop, consistent ballistic coefficient (BC), and better accuracy. This ammunition is built for hunting large game (300 to 1500 lbs) including dangerous game. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.
