DoubleTap .454 Casull 400gr Hard Cast Lead Wide Flat Nose Gas Checked 20/Box delivers hard-hitting, bone-smashing ballistics and features a wide flat nose gas checked hardcast bullet (projectile) which is specifically designed to create large wound channels while maintaining its cutting shape. The hardcast bullets also feature a Brinell Hardness Number of 21 (21 Brinell), and will not deform on impact. This ammunition is built for hunting medium sized game (50 to 300 lbs) including whitetail deer and feral hogs, and for hunting large game (300 to 1500 lbs) including black bear and various North American dangerous game. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases. 

Please Note: A gas check is a piece of metal crimped to the bottom of a hard cast bullet. This ammunition utilizes gas checks which keep the high temperatures of burning powder away from the bullets lead base. If a hard cast bullet does not seal entirely against the bore of the firearm, upon firing, the gases will escape up the side of the bullet and melt the lead, resulting in buildup of lead in the barrel. The gas check helps seal the gases to keep them behind the bullet, inhibiting the buildup of melted lead in the barrel, thus improving accuracy when firing higher pressure loads at higher velocities.
