Hornady Critical Duty .45 ACP +P 220gr FlexLock 20/Box is designed to meet the needs of those who demand superior barrier penetration and prefer a full-size handgun for their personal protection. Critical Duty is loaded with tough Hornady FlexLock bullets that delivers "barrier blind" performance when shot through common urban barriers. The FlexLock bullet incorporates two revolutionary Hornady features to deliver superior barrier penetration and consistent performance in FBI tactical handgun ammunition tests (FBI Protocol). The patented Hornady Flex Tip design eliminates clogging and aids bullet expansion. A large mechanical jacket-to-core InterLock band works to keep the bullet and core from separating for maximum weight retention, excellent expansion, consistent penetration and terminal performance through all FBI test barriers. Bright nickel-plated cases simplify chamber checks in reduced light. Additionally, all Critical Duty ammunition is loaded with low flash propellant to help preserve night vision in low-light firing. This ammunition is built specifically for defense purposes. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in reloadable brass cases.
Please Note: This ammunition is loaded to a higher pressure than standard .45 ACP. Although this ammunition is externally identical to standard ammunition of this caliber, this ammunition should only be used in firearms rated for .45 ACP +P ammunition. Some firearms may not be rated for the higher pressures of the .45 ACP +P, including a number of older firearms, including firearms that are of questionable quality. As a precaution, we recommend consulting with the manufacturer of your firearm, to ensure compatibility with your firearm.

my primary concealed carry ammo
This is the primary round of choice I carry in my glock 21. Munitions express had a great price on each box so I purchased two boxes. I only paid 7.99 to get my order shipped to my door. I change out my edc ammo every six months because I am outdoors ten hours a day and my edc ammo is being exposed to different temperatures, sweat, rain and moisture. I carry thirteen rounds plus one in the chamber. This is some of the most hard hitting self-defense ammo available. I have done extensive research into this round. If my life is being threatened, I want to carry the best ammunition available to defend it. I have not fired this round through any other handgun other than my glock 21, so I can not speak on how it functions in other handguns chambered for 45 acp. I really like that Hornady makes this in +P.
