Hornady Custom .350 Legend 165gr Flex Tip eXpanding 20/Box features the patented elastomer Flex Tip technology of the FTX (Flex Tip eXpanding) and MonoFlex bullets. This ammunition outperforms conventional loads for high weight retention, delivering up to 40% more energy than traditional flat point bullets. These bullets feature higher ballistic coefficients and deliver dramatically flatter trajectory for increased down range performance. Custom ammunition gives hunters the advantage of handloaded accuracy in a factory load. This ammunition is built for hunting medium sized game (50 to 300 lbs) including whitetails. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.

new rifle and new hunting round
Two weeks ago I was sitting in my stand and landed an accurate kill shot on a 180 lb hog. Five hogs were feeding about 100 yds from my stand. I watched them for about 20 min. In the last few years I have started using various calls to attract them to my stand. As soon as I started the distress call they all came running though the thick patch of wooded area towards my stand and I squared up and took the shot. At 55 yds from my stand my first shot was a direct head shot, my second shot just grazed the spine. Hog hunting with my new Ruger American rifle proved to be the right combination for an accurate head shot. When hogs are running towards your stand you must line up your shot and get the timing just right. It is all about getting a good sight picture and knowing the best time to pull the trigger. I never take the shot unless everything is just right and I am sure I can land the shot. Head shots are not my preferred shot zone, but when hogs are running towards your stand it does make the shot more exciting and challenging. The Hornady 350 legend 165 grain ftx bullet proves to be a hog stopper.
