Weatherby Select Plus .300 Weatherby Magnum 200gr Hornady ELD-X 20/Box features Hornady's ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding) bullet which is a technologically advanced, match accurate, all-range hunting bullet featuring high ballistic coefficients (BC) and consistent, controlled expansion at practical hunting distances. Verified by Doppler radar, the Heat Shield tip is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape over its entire trajectory. The streamlined secant ogive with optimum boat tail design plus highly concentric AMP bullet jackets and Heat Shield tip combine for radically superior aerodynamic efficiency. ELD-X delivers devastating range performance for conventional and extended ranges. Exhibiting conventional expansion with large mushrooms and 85-90 percent retained weight the bullet provides deep penetration and large wound channels for quick humane kills. This ammunition is built for hunting medium sized game (50 to 300 lbs) including whitetail deer, and for hunting large sized game (300 to 1500 lbs) including elk, moose, and black bear. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, boxer primed, in reloadable brass cases.

Over the years my weatherby accumark has been a great rifle. I hunt year after year with it and it still remains my top rifle. After shooting the 200 grain hornady eldx bullets though it I now have a new close runner up to my usual nosler accubond loaded rounds. The nosler accubond bullets shoot with the most accuracy. After shooting the hornady eldx 200 grain bullets I must say that they run neck and neck. I now have a new hunting round to choose from. With more testing the hornady eldx might be what I use this hunting season.
